Hi,
I love those tilt-shift videos on the web and TV commercials. I have searched the web for a tutorial to do it with kdenlive and I have found only this video on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=18cLeGxpw1k
But the result isn't really that good. If I have a look at this website: http://www.cleverbits.com/tiltshift.php (click the screenshot on the top right) it looks much much better.
Is anybody here which has produced good looking tilt shift videos with kdenlive? The video from youtube is a first start, but it should really look more professional.
Thanks
Daniel
Hmmm... don't understand what "tilt & shift" means - I would guess it would be an geometric image transformation, but on the linked videos I see just timelapse and selective blur?
Also, disregarding the different resolutions and subjects, why would the second video be considered any better?
Well, I was confused exactly because I DID look at the videos, and saw neither tilt nor shift :-)
So I guess it is mostly about simulated shallow DOF of a macro shot - the selective blur.
But then, what do you find so much better in the second link of your first post than the first one? The subject is probably more interesting, and it was recorded at a higher resolution, but none of this has to do with what Kdenlive can do... The selective blurring seems quite similar to me in both videos?
Tilt&Shift describes a method to make an illusion that the recorded movie or image is taken from a miniature world. It has nothing to do with geometry, which somebody would guess if he just read it and don't look at the examples.
Maybe some better images: http://www.schizzle.biz/images/20080423133438_tiltshift_1.jpg
If you are searching for tilt&shift on vimeo you get thousands of videos: http://www.vimeo.com/videos/search:tilt%20shift
