Summary0000201: after capturing RAW dv file names are wrote withouth extension
DescriptionAfter capturing from DV auto add function does not work and if you try to add the new captured video to the project Kdenlive says thath it is not a valid format for Kdenlive...
You need to manually rename captured files adding the .dv extension to them to be loadable in the project.

Unable to reproduce as described. The files are named with a .dv extension, but the Auto Add did not work for me.

opensourcecat,

Can you confirm whether you have the "Add recording time to captured filename" option checked in Settings -> Configure Kdenlive -> Capture?

If you have it on, can you try turning it off and reporting if this problem still exists?

Auto Add did work once I chose to disconnect. It was not obvious that I needed to do that - Kino is more automatic both with auto add and auto-disconnect.

I have reproduced the problem using the timestamp option.

I just fixed this in dvgrab CVS. It will be in the 3.3 release. I can release that now, but I rather doubt many will have or get it just for this when it's available in so many distros. I suggest kdenlive either leave out the feature to use timestamp, or disable it if 'dvgrab --version' is less than 3.3.

A new bug for this has been created 0000338.

Workaround: one of

a) Upgrade to newest dvgrab from its svn repository
or
b) Do not use timestamp option when capturing
