Summary0002138: videos become twice as long as they should when rendered
DescriptionI have some 50 frames per second progressive videos, e.g.
    http://urchin.earth.li/~ian/video_problem/half_speed_rendering_problem.MTS.mov [^]
(ffprobe output in "additional information" box). This clip is 4 seconds long.

If I have an "HD1080p 50fps" project, and I render to "PAL 1080 50i" "untitled.m2t" or "DVD/PAL/PAL 16:9 VOB" "untitled.vob" then I get an 8 second clip.

However, if I have a "DV/DVD Widescreen PAL" project, then rendering gives me a 4 second clip.

I would expect to get a 4 second result with a "HD1080p 50fps" project.

I have:

$ kdenlive --version
Qt: 4.7.3
KDE Development Platform: 4.4.5 (KDE 4.4.5)
Kdenlive: 0.8.1 (rev. 5604)
Steps To ReproduceSelect project type, add clip to project, put clip on timeline, and render project.

Similar problem: 0002129

Render profiles don't appear to specify frame rate, which screws things up when rendering to a profile with different frame / field settings than the project's profile.

Also ffmpeg's support for creating interlaced output from a progressive source is somewhat lacking. I've always had best results piping it through y4minterlace from mjpegtools, but that functionality is not available from within kdenlive's profiles...

I'm not sure I understand.

Isn't share/mlt/profiles/dv_pal_wide the render profile? It contains
frame_rate_num=25
frame_rate_den=1

Dan Dennedy says:

MLT does not support a mismatch in framerate between the project
profile (atsc_1080p_50) and the render profile (dv_pal_wide). All
other attribute differences (resolution, framerate, progressiveness)
are supported, just not yet framerate. The fact that Kdenlive lets you
create this combination is a known bug in Kdenlive.

Fixed in current svn, rendering to a profile with frame rate different than project profile's frame rate is not allowed anymore
