|Description||Eventually, the following information should be displayed by kuiserver, when rendering:|
- percentage complete
- number of frames completed
- number of frames remaining
- length of video rendered
- length of video remaining
- render time taken
- expected remaining render time (ETA)
Currenly, only a progress indicator is displayed.
|Additional Information||This was tested with kuiserver from KDE 4.1 and Kdenlive svn rev. 2537.|
It is possibly this functionality is different with KDE 4.2. I am setting the target version to 0.7.1 in any case.
I seem to have no progress indicator at all... I'm using Gnome and not KDE, would that be the problem ? If so that looks like a bug to me, because you can't expect someone to install kde instead of gnome (or xfce or any other) just for one piece of software... And if it's just something wrong with me then I suppose it's also bug anyway...
I'm using Ubuntu 8.10.

Re Gnome: you should be able to start kuiserver even under Gnome. Long term, I am pretty sure that Gnome will support a job server through the dbus jobserver specification, and that Kdenlive will be "fixed" to use it, when it is available. I think that currently only KDE actually implements a jobserver.

Svn commit 2771 adds some more information to the feedback. However, it does not do so with me? I think perhaps one needs a newer kuiserver than the one provided with kde 4.1.x, which is the one I am using.
So, leaving this open until someone can confirm the feedback post-2771.
|I do not know the current status, but in the description does "length" refer to time/duration? Is it really necessary to have both time and #frames? Personally, I am always trying to move my code away from stupid frame counts, and I would drop the 2 "number of frames...."|
