Which version of mlt are you using?

If you are using recent git of kdenlive, it's recommended to also use recent git of mlt, as they evolve together.

Both kdenlive and mlt compiled today from git.
The same issue happens also with the old version mlt-0.8.8.
If you confirm that on your machine this problem is not present, I need to understand why this happens in Chakra Linux.

Qt: 4.8.4
KDE Development Platform: 4.10.3
Kdenlive: 0.9.7 (rev. v0.9.4-140-g7d4849c)

Hi there...
Again, the motion effect is used quite often by me, and I don't see these effects.

However, there are quite a few variables at play here.
What format/framerate is the input video in?
What is the framerate of your project?
What is the output format? Are you rescaling the video? Are you rendering from proxy clips or the original footage?

All of these can possibly have an influence on how a video is rendered, and may help someone to duplicate the bug you are seeing.

In general, a more verbose bug report has a better chance of being reproduced and then repaired, or at least fixed on your system.

Just as an added note to this...

Please make sure that Stroboscope is set to 1, as it's intended use is to make video look choppy, and it's included in the speed function.

I don't know what happens, but today I update again kdenlive and mlt from git and the problem is solved. I think the issue was on the project (maybe corrupted) and not in the SW itself.
The bug can be closed.

EDIT: maybe was related with this bug 0003054
