this type of file is still rather uncommon...
do ffmpeg & melt handle it?
can you attach a small sample fortesting?

The avconv handles these files, but with a melt I haven't tried.

I do not want to attach my personal video, but I found an example here:
http://review-fujifilmfinepixreal3d.weebly.com/video.html [^] / http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?wrfax1pd2yu88zy [^]

File contains 2 video streams and 1 audio stream.

Output of avconv -i:

Input #0, avi, from 'DSCF9128.AVI':
  Duration: 00:00:14.99, start: 0.000000, bitrate: 50204 kb/s
    Stream #0.0: Video: mjpeg, yuvj422p, 1280x720, 24 tbr, 24 tbn, 24 tbc
    Metadata:
title : FUJIFILM AVI STREAM 0200
    Stream #0.1: Audio: pcm_s16le, 48000 Hz, 2 channels, s16, 1536 kb/s
    Stream #0.2: Video: mjpeg, yuvj422p, 1280x720, 24 tbr, 24 tbn, 24 tbc
    Metadata:
title : FUJIFILM AVI STREAM 0200

PS:

It turned out that it was useless to import two streams.
To edit the stereoscopic video, you must first convert the file with two video streams to a file with a single video stream (for example, in a side by side format). This can be done using avconv 0.9.

I couldn't attach the video file because I received the following message:
"File upload failed. This is likely because the filesize was larger than is currently allowed by this PHP installation."

File size: 90 MB.
