Summary0000048: Cannot export timeline
DescriptionI added a few JPEG images to a slideshow and clicked on File -> Export Timeline. No matter what options i choose in the format, i dont get any output file!!

Attached is a zip file containing screenshot and project file. In the screenshot i am choosing /home/arun and filename untitled.mov, but i dont see this file after i click export and in fact the window closes too quickly, so its not exporting anything.

Please always give the Kdenlive version when reporting a bug.
Can you export in other formats like mpeg ?

If export works in one format and not in another, that is probably an issue with your FFMPEG install.

Currently, the quicktime mov format in Kdenlive uses the Sorenson video codec with ac3 audio. So you probably need to install the libquicktime-dev and the liba52-dev packages. Then if I remember correctly, FFMPEG must be compiled with the "--enable-liba52" flag to support ac3 encoding.

Hope it helps

Hi There -

Sorry for not giving the version.

The version I am using is 0.5 and this quite probably is an ffmpeg issue. I installed ffmpeg from the repository and did not compile, but I am not able to export timeline to any format!

Should I compile ffmpeg from source and try this?

Before attempting to compile FFMPEG by yourself, try this with one of your jpg file:

inigo your_image.jpg in=0 out=50 -consumer avformat:test.mpg

This should create a 2 seconds mpeg movie from your jpg image. Can you play the resulting movie or do you get an error message?

Hi There

I am not sure about your command, why is it starting with inigo?

I cant find 'inigo' command.

I appened this to ffmpeg and that didnt work either. Here the console output -

Sorry for being stupid :(

Arun

inigo is a command line audio/video player that comes with MLT. It can be quite usefull for debuging purposes. If you installed mlt from a package, there might be another package called mlt-data or something similar that will install the inigo player...

It appears this bug was filed against the KDE3/qt3 version of Kdenlive. Due to a shortage of developers, this version is no longer supported (see http://www.kdenlive.org/news.php [^]), and this issue has been closed.

If you believe this is an error, or can reproduce this issue using the KDE4/qt4 version of Kdenlive, please file a new report.

If you have trouble building/obtaining the KDE4/qt4 version of Kdenlive, please consult http://www.kdenlive.org/compile [^]

You may especially be interessted in the Kdenlive Builder Wizard, available at http://www.kde-apps.org/content/show.php?content=85826 [^] .

Note, that you do not need to run KDE4 to build and run the Kdenlive KDE4 version.
